The Rotech system for A.I. uses only disposable items in contact with the semen. The collection flask is lined with a polythene collection bag and covered with a paper or gauze filter.

An alternative to a collection flask is a polystyrene cup. This can be used without a liner, and the 1 litre version can be fitted with a re-usable handle. Some users prefer two lids, one with the centre cut out, to hold the filter in place.
